Base Pay, Per Diem Pay and Professional Rate of Pay

Base Pay: 

  • Your base pay is shown on the ISD/IEA salary schedule, which is also posted on this website, as is title on the salary schedule as Base. Your base pay is the amount of money allocated by the State of Washington (Using the State Allocation Model called the SAM) and then distributed on the salary schedule as per our negotiated contract. When, and if, the State restores the COLA passed by the voters of the State of Washington, that COLA will automatically be applied to the salary base. (The COLA was suspended from the 2009-10 school year through 2014-15 school year.) The State increased the State Allocation Model by 3% in 2015-16 ,1.8% in 2016-17 and 2.3% in 2017-18.
  • This system of Base Pay Allocation will end in 2018-19 and will be replaced by a new State Average Base Allocation system by 2019-20.
  • Your State base pay (contract) is for 180  student days. All additonal days, the four August Day and two 1/2 and 1/2 Days, are paid from Local Levy Funds.

Per Diem Pay:

  •  Your Per Diem Pay Rate (hourly rate) is your base pay divided by 180 days then divided by 7 hours. Your duty free lunch is not considered part of your paid workday.

Professional Rate of Pay:

  • The Professional Rate of Pay is for participating in Professional Development, In-service training, interview teams, curriculum development and elementary co-curricular programs. The Professional Rate of Pay shall be the hourly rate of pay on Step 8 Column 3 of the ISD Salary Schedule. For 2017-18 that will be $32.27per hour.
