Who We Are

The Issaquah Education Association (IEA) has a membership of over 1,350 certificated educators in the Issaquah School District.  The governing body of IEA is made up of an Executive Board and Representatives for each of our 25 buildings.  We protect the rights of our members, advocate on their behalf, assist them in resolving conflicts, answer their questions, offer suggestions, and listen to their concerns.  It is our responsibility to negotiate with the school district on behalf of our members over wages, hours, and working conditions.  In addition, we offer professional development and training opportunities to our members in a variety of subject areas throughout the school year.

Your membership in IEA means you have the support of the National Education Association (NEA), our state's Washington Education Association (WEA), your regional UniServ council (Sammamish), and the Issaquah Education Association (IEA). Being a WEA member means:
  • Accurate information amid a changing landscape in education
  • Support in bargaining your local contract
  • A strong voice in the Washington Legislature
  • Professional development opportunities to help keep your skills sharp
  • Eligibility to attend cohorts for obtaining ProTeach and National Board Certification
